tomato seedling problem

Wethersfield, CT

Can anyone identify this leaf problem in my tomato seedlings? Strong stems. Leaf browning begins at the leaf tip, then proceeds to cover most of the tip end of the leaf. The leaves curl, and the leaf stem (the petiol) curls as well.

Check the stems just above soil level...if you see a thin area on the stem, it is damping off...a common fungal infection in seedlings

You may want to try posting on the tomato forum. Those links are great but sometimes somebody will recognize it right off the bat.

The poster is not a subscriber, so would not be able to access the tomato forum. If you hold your cursor over the name, it shows whether the person posting is a subscriber or not.

Ya I thought about that I don't know which forums are open to subscribers only. Maybe the beginner veggies forum?

It you click on Communities at the top of any page, click on discussion forums, it will give you a list of all the forums on DG. Any forum with a red * (asterisk) beside it is for subscribers only. Good news is that Beginner Vegetables is open to everyone.

I know how to do it I just wasn't thinking about it when I posted my answer. Lol. That's why I suggested the Beginner Veggies forum. I think they will get a lot more answers.

Subscribing is a bargain. I'm always surprised when I see posts by nonsubscribers. We have so much to offer.
