Can you post a pic of the whole plant?
Glorious May Blooms
Just beautiful, Cheryl. I know you've got to be so proud, and so pleased!!
When did you start your Cardoon seeds? I'd love to grow some, but I'm sure it's too late for this year.
I don't know what they are Michael. I assumed they are natives but if not they could well be some kind of cosmos. If so they spread all over and you will never be without them if you like em. I have some that have come up in many places year after year. They are not hard to get rid of so its not an issue.
black eyed susans and Zinnia grandiflora today.
C
Cheryl, the Zinnia grandiflora is really pretty, how tall does it get for you?
9 inches but its spreading all over the cactus bed so I am not sure what I will do about it.
C
If you have too much and pull some out, I can use some for my curb bed.
It spreads by runners but they are not easy to get rooted. Did the little ones from the RU die? They really do need good drainage, mine are in cactus gravel and sand. I think I have a couple larger clumps I can try and pot up.
C
Yes, they didn't make it, but please don't mess up your pretty beds for me, maybe you can save me some seed later.
They are some clumps that I was planning on removing anyway.
C
Micheal- can you get a better picture of the foliage? I'm sure they are tickseed but that foliage will make me positive and they are natives.
Lisa I pegged my mystery as Coreopsis grandiflora but I'm definitely no expert in flowers of these kinds and I'm probably wrong on the I.D. cause my foliage does not match C grandiflora. I'll post a few pics of the smaller plants showing all growth later tonight.

I can't find that one in my book about natives but if you can post pics that would be great. I still have trouble telling clasping coneflower from Mexican Hat, unless they are right next to each other. A picture of the foliage would be great. It's not that I don't believe you I just enjoy the natives but some look an awful lot alike.
Is your coreopsis, threadleaf coreopsis?
Looks like they could be.
