Glorious May Blooms
Beautiful, Cheryl.
I promise, this fall, I'm planting some of that Drummond phlox...from seeds!!
Bezziec-thank you so much for the offer. Are those the native prickly poppies? I saw a big bumble on a white one.
No, I don't think they are native. My friend gave them to me 3 years ago and I believe she had planted from a purchased seed package. But the bees love them because they have so much pollen.
I don't know what a prickly poppy is. Enlighten me please.
Soooo pretty everyone. Everything looks so good this year. I guess I had my expectations adjusted big time during the drought. I just love how healthy everything looks.
So pretty, Anna! I love the blackfoot daisy and the bluebonnet combo, too.
Mine are various heights. Some bloom at just 6" and some get up to 3' or so.
I found this lily on the floor at Lowes a year ago, not in a pot and no soil on it. No idea what it was, roots all dried out. It bloomed this week. Looks like what Ive always called Easter Lily but it bloomed for Mother's Day instead.
2 = Giant Turks Cap, 3 = skullcap, 4 = Nasturtiums, 5 = 1st bloom on Daylily, "little business" which I got at RU 2 yrs ago.
Bezziec-Thank you for the kind offer but I think I'll pass. I have many types of poppies and seeds but I would love to have seeds for the Pink prickly Poppy. It's just like the White Ones, I'd never seen the pink before. I have a lot of Poppies this year but I guess it is late. My potatoes are still in the ground, which is unbelievable considering the month, they look health tho.
1lisac---No problem. The white ones are really pretty. I've never seen a white poppy. Does prickly poppy mean that the foliage is thorny?
Bezziec-yes the foliage is thorny. They are a native so they grow in my pasture I'll look for a link but you might try googling them. They come back every year. They grow with no help from me.
Oak galls?
Yes, they are oak galls.
Oh, that's purrrrrty!
What is that? I know, I should know what it is but it is pretty.
I borrowed it from sis,s garden. Lily some kind?
