Help, I bought a Peace Rose. Need help on care and amending.

I bought a PEACE ROSE for my Mother,she has wanted it for a long time. However I have never grew Roses. I want to plant it as a surprise. I know where she wants it. I have no idea what to amend the soil with for a Rose bush. I am also wondering if this a rose prone to diseases or other problems. I have looked at some of my garden books and they all vary in information. Can anyone Please Help? Any help at all would be great! Thank you in advance for your time and help! Have a Blessed Day!

Here in UK the Rose called Peace is lovely Yellow Hybrid tea, IF this is the Rose you are wishing to grow then look on this site for HYBRID TEA Roses and the info will cover what care is required, but like ALL type of Roses, they all require a rich open soil Humus rich soil that will give the nutrients , added air and moisture retaining soil but well drained, I also think that proper pruning is essential, when Roses of different types are not pruned to suit their type then they dont grow to their best flowering and get diseased easier, weaker growth and generally look in poor health.

Hope you can get the type of help you need as that is a beautiful Rose.

WeeNel, The Peace Rose I bought is a Yellow Hybrid Tea. My Great Grandmother grew it and my Mother has been wanting one really bad. They hard to find around my area. Thank You very much for your help!
