Keep it indoors as long as you want.
You can move it in and out if you want, on a patio or shaded garden under a tree through the spring.

However, eventually it will go dormant. Back off on the watering then, perhaps move it to a drier, cool location.

The florists cyclamen (the one most often sold in bloom) can grow in the garden, but around here (no snow in the winter) they are planted in the fall for winter color. Often part of a Christmas display.

I can never seem to keep them past dormancy for some reason. They die out on me.

Some of the cyclamens are extremely difficult to rebloom. The problem with that is, you never know until you try. Heat is their enemy, too - they take it cool and won't tolerate wet feet, so a free-draining, well-aerated soil and a cool room or shade is to be preferred in containers.

Here is a photo of over 100 cyclamen plants and I have another flat to prick out and pot up. They all came from the pot in which cyclamen grew last winter (2012) outdoors and up until it became hot and it appeared to die. It has not come back but I have all these seedlings with what looks like tiny little bulbs on the end! I did nothing. It just happened. Anyone know how long it might take for these to grow up and bloom?
