I noticed that most online nurseries list Rose Creek Abelia as being hardy to zone 6. Is zone 6 hardiness top hardiness or root hardiness? I'm considering planting a Rose Creek Abelia on the east side of my house where it would receive morning sun and aternoon shade, but I am concerned that it will die to the ground in my zone (6b). Does anyone have experience growing abelias in zone 6 who could answer this?
