No DG for 10 Days
Oh Jody sounds like you will have a good time. We will miss you. Hurry Home!
Oh what fun!!! Keep a journal of your trip and share it with us. I found a journal I kept of a long ago vacation and it was such fun reading it, almost like being there again. We would all love to travel with you. We could stowaway but would all get to giggling and you'd find us.
What's your route?? I can't find my way out of a wet paper sak...if you're traveling anywhere near the Fl. panhandle let me know...I'm north of Panama City. my door is always open to friends. Ginger

Lisa, you be gentle with that girl, you know she doesn't know about those snapping logs.
Have fun vacation!
Jody have a great time!!!!! I will miss seeing your hosta photos for sure! But I can't wait to hear all about it when you return! Have a safe trip.
sue
Note to self...hide the hostas before Jody gets here!!! Does this mean I need to clean my house?
Cala, I am on a whirl wind here..cleaning just a little so don't you clean too much, that way I will not look as bad ;)
I've been pulling out the things that got frosted on and they are lying in piles in the yard. Guess I should at least take them to the compost pile? DH did take the blower to the leaves that were in the front yard, so you can at least see some green.
Ooooooooo I am gonna get to meet tiG too I think!!! How fun this is going to be!
heheheheh, ya'll are so cute! Don't you be worrying about cleaning, and Cala...I will find the hosta's, I think I will be able to "smell" them, LOL. I have a box for Lauren that I never mailed :) and some hosta's for you but they look very sleepy.
Thanks for the invite Ginger but I won't be quite that far south :( I think next vacation needs to be at least a couple of weeks!

Jody you coming through Ky to get there( hint hint)? lol
mystic I sure wish I was, in fact if I had a couple of weeks instead of just 10 days I would make it a point to! Maybe I'll just have to go on another vacation real soon :)
fortunately, already planning on house being clean, having a baby shower next week. But the yard will look awful, sorry, no time. I picked a dumb time to redo the bathroom, but at least I'll have one room I can show-off to Jody!!! LOL!!
See you when you get back, have a safe trip and I know that you all will have a great time.
Jody, dont forget gloria and i here in mississippi...were between trish and lisa : )
jen
Well you give us fair warning, Jody - we're heading down that way some time in March. Oooooooh, I'm jealous. I wanna go NOW! But Louisiana will be nice in March, compared to Ohio. Then we'll come back and spring will soon be here! :o) Seems so far away, but look at how time's flown just since this last April...Wow!
You have a GREAT time!! :o) Kimberley
Why didn't we all just go to Jodys. That way we(ya'll) wouldn't have to clean house and all of us woulkd have a vacation instead of Jody. Sorry Jody I need a vacation bad. If tIg will let me know when you are going to be there I might try visiting her and meeting you. I would like to very much.
GRC
If you need a vacation, just go get Tig and y'all come visit me. There is a hosta farm and a daylily farm not far from here, and I have brugs blooming in the green house.
oh, wish I could!!!! Just to meet you would be all I need:)
We made it to the first destination :) Since MaryE suggested to keep a journal, I will keep it on line as much as possible, but won't be able to post here or to it every day as I am using their puter to do so at the moment. I will post pics to it as I take them.
Just go to my journal and look under Vacation. http://davesgarden.com/gj/jody/viewentry/10361.html
See ya'll later today I hope!

I was in Tenn back in August for a reunion in Manchester. Calalily how far are you from there. I'm making plans now for next year. I appreciate the invite. Jim
Jody, are you coming down on I-81? I'm 1 1/2 miles from exit 69, the 2nd exit in Tennessee, if you need a break. I think it's always good to get out and walk around for a few minutes - 'course, my problem is that I fall asleep while driving, so I need lots of stops.
This is for when you stop in again! HI!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!
sue
Jim, you were in Manchester? Hoo boy, you were only 35 miles from me and you were real close to McMinnville, which is a gardener's heaven on earth. If you make it up this way again, please let me know, and I'll at least meet ya down there and we can go explore McMinnville together. Better yet, bring tiG along, so we can all go together (Just imagine a town where nurseries and greenhouses practically line the streets...)
Vols
if they come see you, you better call me so I can go too. GoVols, how far am I from Manchester? I think I'm North East of there, maybe a hundred or so miles.
McMinnville is where most of my relatives on my father side lives. This past year was the first time I met any of my fathers relatives (a long story) and the first year I attended the reunion. Actually there was two reunions one at Mcminnville on Sat. and one in Manchester on Sun. I know that it is a rich land as for as the soil is concerned. I was thinking I might make another trip this year but my wife has been sick and I can't leave her to go that far right now. My GGGFATHER Capt.John Bryan was given 600 acres for his service in the revolution war and my understanding he chose that area because of the rich soil. He was from N.C. I guess that is where I get my love from gardening from. I met all kind of cousins and one of them surveyes farm land and farm houses. He had 4 farms located in that area and he told me he was the second largest grower of corn in Tenn. I believe it that was all I could see was corn everywhere on his land. My GGGFATHER built a cabin in 1806 and it was recently bought and moved to Atlanta. I'll post a photo along with the article that appeared in Better Home and Gardens about it. I'll bring tiG when I come and we will have a good time in Mcminnville with all those greenhouses and gardens. Hope to see you then. Jim
