I just need some suggestions in the way of ferns that will do well outdoors in this area. Early Spring through early Summer and late Fall to early Winter is when we see milder conditions and any noteworthy rainfall. So any suggested ferns would need to be happy with municipal water with potential water-rationing during our hot dry summers. The back yard at our new rent house has good shading... the soil will need some improving no dought but that's not really an issue for me. I just need something that'll survive the hot summers and the irratic winters... My mom has ferns in her yard that do well, colonize, and spread but neither one of us know what kind they are. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Good Candidate Ferns for Zone 6c (Dallas)?
