O.K. I have edited the list, We still need 1 main dish, 1 salad, 1 dessert, Ice, cups and napkins.
2013 NC Texas RU, Sunday April 21st, ( Attendance & Food)
I can bring some kind of main dish too. I'll have to think about what and get back.
I will bring raw veggies and dip.So far it is just me.
I moved the food list to the first post, please check there for what is needed.
Josephine.
Josephine, thanks for coordinating this.
Carla
Thank you Carla, it is going to be fun!!!
Gypsi - 1. And a lot of plants. I used to know how to cook, trust me, you don't want me bringing food this year. I'm having my 2nd childhood and have developed kitchen allergy. I did see a bunch of disposable plastic cups in the back of my pantry, I can bring those.

I have what Gypsi has!
a kitchen allergy-
yeah, that's it!
I can bring a gallon of unsweet tea, a gallon of sweet tea, & some plasticware & napkins.
Okay, if Sylvia is going to bring tea, I will just bring a couple of liters of soda pop, along with a main dish.
Cheryl,
Toddlers are much more fun than teenagers, I may be of some help. I will NOT be bringing my 12 year old granddaughter.
I'll bring chocolate cake and coffee and cups.
It looks like 35 on the list already! We're going to have a nice crowd.
Yes it looks like a very good crowd, I am excited!!!
Hope the weather is a LITTLE warmer than it was in the fall....not a LOT warmer, just a little.
How is everyone getting a photo onto their log in name?
Wouldn't you like to know!!! LOL!! Sorry Marty couldn't resist!
Go to my info and then manage your preferences. Look for the upload for the Avatar.
Mine is molasses but please think it's chocolate.
LOL I am resisting the urge myself.
heheheh.
Josephine, did you see my chocolate cake and coffee and cups?
I will bring pot roast and my sister will bring homemade chocolate or pecan pie. I'll brinng the pot roast in an ice chest and heat it at the hotel in the microwave before coming to the park.
I didn't post it yet, thank you for bringing it. I will post it soon.
I think I am going to removed my Avatar picture for now. It makes the threads take up more space and probably load slower. LOL!
Hello Everyone, I updated the top post for food and attendance, please check and see if I missed something or someone.
Josephine.
Ok food question: Is anyone else Gluten Free??? I might have to eat before I come.
Angel
I don't know, but you could eat the vegetables and rice.
I don't know what I'm going to miss the most -- the cool plants or the great food! ((Not to mention the good company!)) Hope you guys have a great time and I hope to see you all at the Fall RU.

I'm allergic to milk and sensitive to gluten, so I eat whole grains, fruits, veggies, meats but stay out of casseroles that might have cheese in them. I don't eat that much, mainly there to swap plants
Yeah, I think I will just eat before I come - I am very sensitive to cross contamination of gluten. You are right Gypsi, just swapping plants is enough! Can't wait!
Angel
We will miss you Dale, See you in the fall.
Is the plan to eat pretty close to 1?
We don't have many veggies or salads. If someone who doesn't want to cook wants to pick up deli potato salad, I'll switch and make a different side dish.
Yes, eating close to 1.00.
Patrob my pot roast includes potatoes and carrots, probably 5-6 servings of each. I could perhaps bring the salad ingredients for a toss salad and toss it after I get there. I'll do that instead of the pies.

Salad instead of pies ...... that would just be cruel. LOL!! I can bring some veggies (carrots, celery, brocolli, etc).
Carla
Celiac disease IS cruel; my daughter has it.
I was thinking of grabbing some cole slaw from the BBQ place near us....it's very fresh and tastes home made.
I think my skills would extend to steamed (from plain frozen, no sauces) vegetables.
??
I'm still at plastic cups, but could swing some potato salad I think. I hate to commit though. I'm in my busy season and going to be doing well to get there with plants.
Carrie, yup it is cruel - especially since even if you eat gluten free there is no guarantee you will feel better and be well.
Angel
I'm trying some Aloe Vera Juice - the cold pressed not boiled kind, Hoping that will help me out. Shouldn't hurt.
