Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

our neighbors invited Randy and I over for dinner.. Darlene's Dad just passed away the other day... and they wanted to thank us for being good neighbors and being so concerned with them this past week .. made them dinner a few nights and dropped off the health aid at the train station for them.. I didn't think it was a big deal.. but Chris almost made me cry saying he wanted to let us know how much he appreciated what we did for them .. I tell you.. I really love this neighborhood

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yay for great neighborhoods!!

Thomaston, CT

That was very kind of both of you, Allison.......went to Ruby Tuesday's, had soup & salad bar.....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we had Darlene & Chris over last night.. they are such great people.. had a ton of leftovers from Michele we cleaned up

Thomaston, CT

Today is the last of my leftovers which means cooking.....oh, dear.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

We did great with our 9 pound spiral cut ham, no nitrites. Until the kids were gone back to college, I just rebaked it for an easter dinner for each one. By the third time, the pinapples and clove glaze really seeped in! Now, tough decision. Do I make a lentil soup with the ham bone, or just give the juicy treat to our dog? I think we all need the benefits of the marrow.

Thomaston, CT

I would make yellow split pea......

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Pasta, meatballs, salad and Italian bread. Also made an eggless choc cake for DDIL's birthday. Grandie is allergic to eggs and peanuts.

Thomaston, CT

Sounds yummy, Jan. I'm coughing myself sick......just making soup for today.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

feel better!!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Allison....I've done nothing for 2 days....itching to do some yardwork, but really hit hard by this cough & fever.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Sorry to hear, RD. Being thankful I haven't gotten sick since being home for over a week now. The grandies around the corner have had a hard winter.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Hope you are feeling chipper and up and at em again soon, Marilyn. I did use a variety of dried beans including yellow split peas in the soup. We're trying to get our energy going at our house, too. So discouraging when you're itching to get that old grass off in order for the little green shoots to peak through.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

DW made roasted salmon, I made fried rice (with veggies) from NYTimes magazine recipe (last week).

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

YUM! Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. Bought waffle bowls, homemade raspberry, strawberry & orange pineapple ice cream. Toppings were the same..razz., pieapple and strawberry. We put bananas in first then top!!

BROWNIE YUM ~YUM
Make a pan of THICK brownies. Place a square of brownie in a bowl, scoop vanilla ice cream (any flavor you like really) then melt approx. 1/8 of a cup of peanut butter in the microwave for 15 seconds or until pourable. Drizzle warm over the ice cream and brownie!!
Our local dairy makes these and charges an arm and a leg...I came home and made them and it only cost me a finger nail. :)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

:-)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

must be ice cream season.. LOL.. same at denville dairy.. costs much more for a sundae .. than a tub of ice cream already packed to take home.. it's a pull a ticket and wait to be called place.. when the lines are huge we just grab tubs and go.. no line there

Thomaston, CT

Yum ...those ice cream flavors sound soooo good! I baked chicken-spinach meatballs for Mom....put in 2 Tbls. of pesto...really perked them up.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

Made Portuguese Kale/Sausage Soup. Good for chilly evenings. Used most of the kale that overwintered in the garden, discarding the outer leaves.
