mint and basil fungus

I'm trying to grow mints and basil, I know they are in the same family, but they get black spot fungus and die off. What can I do so they live and I can use them for food?

Outhall ~ does the foliage get wet or stay wet?
Are your temperatures warm enough right now?

I find basils & mints thrive in hot and dry conditions and am careful to water the soil without splashing on the leaves.

Moisture on the leaves could set up a condition for fungus, particularily when the humidity may be high.

Basil is a an annual herb closely identified with Italian cooking, although it is originally from India. They all grow easily in warm, sunny weather as tender annuals.

You can grow basil indoor, from seed, seedling or cuttings from your vegetable garden plants. Provide direct sunlight and warmth and feed monthly. An underfed basil plant, indoors or out, will have pale green leaves.
