Hi for the past few Winters squirrels have been peeling bark from a linden tree on my patio. How can I prevent this from happening.
Squirrels damaging a tree
Squirrels are very determined and smart about getting around barriers, but I think a barrier is about the only way to stop them. Can you wrap the trunk in wire mesh, like chicken wire?
I have no idea if this would work, but you could try spraying on deer repellants or a home made blend that includes things like cayenne pepper.
