I got this beautiful Yucca cane from IKEA three weeks ago. I have no experiences in caring for indoor plants. I did some online research, but the information I got is limited. Does anyone know how much moisture this plant needs? Already I've seen yellow leaves and also, the bud is drying out.
Any experienced yucca cane carers?
Newbie with a Yucca Cane
They come from a dry climate so I would be careful to not overwater them. Just feel the soil....if damp....do not water....if dry .....water it.....and allow it to drain away out the bottom so not sitting in water.
Growing this plant indoor needs to be watered only when the soil is dry. Insert a pencil or a chopstick 2 inches into the soil. Remove the pencil, if it is completely dry, water the plant.
Yucca houseplants tend to be resistant to many of the pests, problems, and diseases that other houseplants encounter. If your Yucca does become infected with bugs or mites, spraying a soapy mixture of water and dish soap over the plant usually does the trick.
