UGH VICTOR! I am a little sensitive right now about eyes!!! I have spent the last 6 days with a miserable eye infection. Granted, the reason I have it is my own fault (as she hangs her head down in shame) but BOY, I don't want anything in my eyes...never mind a tongue!!!!
Wish I could post the picture of my eyes...cant from my phone....it wasn't pretty! :(

Oh, no, Pixie....sorry to hear about the eye! That story is disgusting, & I have an even worse one....a woman in my art class went to Belize in March....when she came to art class she complained about some bites on her scalp.....they looked like infected tick bites to me...she said her doc had put her on antibiotics...then she & her husband left on a 6 week bird photographing tour.....when she was in Arizona things got worse...went to another doc who gave her a salve....she finally saw a dermatologist in AZ who operated on her....some sort of fly had deposited eggs in her scalp, they hatched into 3/4" larvae...she had photos...UGH,UGH!
And she had to share the PHOTOS?

Yep, it was that bad.....& she dropped the photo in front of me before I knew what it was....hard to get it out of my mind!
Sorry to hear, Celeste. Eye stuff is awful. The two times I scratched my cornea (once in the garden) I wanted to rip my eye out!

I understand the need. I guess its OK in terms of "You the child did not do anything wrong, the parent broke the rules"
Unfortunately, that's the norm for some kids....I had a foster child in my class one year who would bring in her Mom's letters written from Niantic, the state's prison for women.....she told anyone who would listen about her Mom's drug problems....
how sad.
And there are entire communities in which it IS the norm to have friends or family with prison time...completely out of my zone of reality.
My DD brought home a girl of 14 who was sleeping in an abandoned car in the woods. Her Mom would leave her to come home from school(9thgrade) , wash the dishes, wash & fold the clothes, make sure the house was clean. Get her 2 younger sibling off the bus, and feed them. Most of the time her Mother left food stamps on the table and they were to walk to the store and order Italians. She was then to wash them, put them to bed and then she could do her HOMEWORK! Needless to say she was flunking, she knew her Mother was going to beat her for the grades so she ran away . Where was the Mother during all this you ask? Working at a cheesy bar under the table so she could buy her drugs. The woman was nuts...but I didn't know this until DD brought the kid home and I was threatened. She called and said she carried a gun...this was confirmed by her DD whom I have just taken in. :( Then she threatens to burn my house down at night time...in the conversation she mentions I have a handicapped son, might be a difficult situation getting him out in time!!! Those were fighting words right there!! Called the cops, had my line tapped so the calls could be recorded and then I took her to court and got custody of her DD with the childs father's blessings!!!
The rest of the story....the girl, Sarah blossomed under the wings of this huge family...her 1st Christmas she balled like a baby. Gifts prior to this were a new pillow and blanket. :(
She graduated from high school with straight A's, got a scholarship , had a little rough patch...but is now a E.R. , RN. :)

Last store I worked in 1 of the girls that worked for me had 3 kids, each one had a different father and the current boyfriend was in jail. I had another girl that worked for me at the same time and she had a daughter by the same guy...unreal!!!!
