My favorite Florida peach tree ( about 7 years old) is leaking sap from the trunk and branches. Otherwise the tree looks healthy. Leaves look good. It has bloomed very early and has peaches on the tree very early. I did spray the trunk and branches with an insecticide. What is this and how can I cure it. I would hate to loose this tree as it has the sweetest and jusiest peaches of all.
Thanks for your help.
Peach tree leaking sap
There are a couple of possibilities.
Borers are insects that live under the bark, chew small holes through the bark. Look for small holes, perhaps as small as 1/8".
Cytospora is a fungus that can do this, too.
