44° A great amount of bird seed has appeared on the ground where snow has melted. So the birds don't have to dig for it. Melt on the driveway has given a narrow corridor for walking.

hit 44° today. Melted enough ice on the gravel drivway so I could walk near the car. Much more to melt. One cardinal on a visit.

It's not all gone here but we have had 2 - 3 days at 40 and it's melting fast. I can now see some grass around the base of the tree's. With that being typed, the weatherman said we will get snow tonight & tomorrow and in 3 days expect it again. Great!

No snow here in Nantucket except in the deepest shade and only a few patches. It got up to 48 and was sunny all day. DH took down a couple of big pines that we lost in the storm and he repaired the deer fence where one of the big pines knocked it down when it came partially down. The couple of Cedars that got whacked are getting done tomorrow. I raked, pruned and cleaned up lots of downed branches. Got maybe a third of the yard done. While cleaning up a bed, I found the first of our reticulated Iris in bloom. I.r.Gordon must have be blooming in the snow, but I didn't see it until today. Bad Mom. Patti
