Raised Wooden Garden Bed - HELP!

I'm new to gardening and recently thought it would be a great idea to use an old wardrobe as a raised garden bed. So I set it all up and it seemed to be going okay until someone asked if I waterproofed the wood which I didn't even think of doing. This is just a temporary garden as I'm only renting at the moment, so will the garden and vegies still be okay for short term use? Will the wood affect them at all?
