I am interested in the Maple-Leaf Viburnum discussed in the Nov newsletter. We live in Northern Nevada south of Lake Tahoe. Our soil is acidic. Will this plant like it here?
Maple-Leaf Viburnum
I don't know what newsletter you are referring to - maybe you could post a link to it here? Or at least provide the name of it?
Mapleleaf Viburnum (Viburnum acerifolium) is native in a broad swath of the eastern North America on acidic soils generally in mesic understory forest conditions. If you can approximate that in your garden, then you can likely have success.
If you have full sun sites and xeric conditions, you may not find Mapleleaf Viburnum to be quite as content.
Perhaps lik2ski is referring to the DG November 26 newsletter that is sent via e-mail.
Is there a way for me to access that info anywhere here on DG?
I cannot seem to find the actual newsletter....anywhere other than my e-mail inbox...it included a Plant of the Week fact sheet on Maple Leaf Viburnum. The newsletter is dated 11/26/2012.
Thanks for checking - see your dmail...
Will Do.
