Christmas Decorations

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

I have the same feeling about taking the decorations down. I probably should be ashamed to admit that for the last 3 years we have not had a real tree. The decorated tree is on a balcony. There's an attic door a few feet away. We just wrap the decorated tree in plastic and push it into the attic. The next year we just pull it out and plug it in. Lots of things change as the years go by.

we leave ours up for Russian Christmas on the 7th, so will be taken down the week after

took the tree down last night. DH says he'll start on the outside lights this weekend. supposed to warm up(30's)

Have to say - this Frasier Fir has dropped fewer needles than any tree I have ever had. Frasiers are generally good with that, but this one is amazing.Thinking maybe the old traditional lights, with their heat, sped up the drying out. These LEDs are absolutely cool.

thumbs up Victor!!!.. I can say we usually wait until after the 7th as well.. but this year.. it will be after the snow is off the wires outside.. might be easter.. LOL

I took down my tree today, the decorations were packed away yesterday.....not many needles to vac from mine either....usually I have a concolor which doesn't shed at all, but the farm didn't have any this year...have no idea what kind of tree, but the needles were long & soft....

I'm with you on taking down the decorations, Victor. I hate it. Roses, I love your way of decorating and taking down the tree. LOL!!!!

decorations are off the tree and the house - will tackle getting the tree out tomorrow - usually clip off the branches and put them in a heavy trash bag to burn outside - makes to big of a mess and this years tree is a half larger than the sliding door.

Thomaston, CT

Good idea, Bill......I have to pick up the tree, so I make sure it's small.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Would love to burn things! (And some people. ;) )

Town picks them up for composting.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

there will still be a big mess of needles - better they are all in one place

anyone turn theirs into a suet feeder?

Sometimes when we had a real tree we'd put it outsde for the birds to shelter in, then get rid of it in the spring. Or, cut off the branches and use them to protect other plants.

Get tired of the same old tree pics.
