This self-watering pot is the type where an unglazed pot sits inside a glazed pot containing water...no wick.

Will a spider plant do well in a self-watering pot.
I wouldn't do it.
I think it would stay to wet and get root rot, I wouldn't do it either. My spider likes to dry out between watering's.
Those pots are usually used for rooting cuttings, not permanent plant growth, AFAIK. Something that likes to stay soggy, like Colocasia, might like it.
