PS: is the second one a lav beauty ? Jackies were gorgeous this summer here..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, So glad they got some of the fluid off her heart. Yep, if she felt like complaining, then she definitely
feels better.
I knew you would enjoy the lovely Lav Beauty. Hope it made some sds for you..

Debra so glad they were able to help your sister!!

Debra, glad surgery went well and that your sister feel better.

Gorgeous bloom Jackie.

My mgs are doing better inside gh but placed outside for picture and bee or bug pollinating. Edit to say: I put the wrong month on camera after charging the camera.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Really like your choc silk and Tai aki, nice large blooms.

Yes that was my pale pink mg bloom.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, thanks.... Your light pink is very pretty. I love your Hatsu and the bright purple bloom.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

me too! I really like that tai aki, and the darkest beautiful blue on yours, Helena.
well, everything will get fried tonight that is blooming outside.. going to 29 they say. BRRRR

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. I am not ready for any type of cold weather. Fifty degrees is cold enough down here.

I'm still getting smaller than usual blooms which is kind of diappointing.

We will be below freezing tonight too Debra. I will be sure and send you some of the Tai aki sds. It is a
larger bloom like my no Sora cross not

Love all your blooms Helena but the color on that 1st one is really striking.
Blooms in 3rd pic are Carnival of Venice??

No Sora cross not is still putting out a few blooms

Thanks Jackie. Love all your pretty blooms. No that's not Carnival de Venice, I think that has pinks & dark pinks colors, mine is the comon aomurasakishibori- the one with the long name cause I don't know if I spelled it write.

It's very windy here and very cool but no way near freezing which is good for me. Hope it's not bad where you guys are.

Only 2 decent blooms today.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

well, you guys just keep bringing on the show cuz it is 27 outside right now and I am hoping the sheet over the lobata kept it from looking like everything else outside LOL

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh my gosh, so glad it didn;t get down to 27 here Debra. 36 last night so a freeze is getting close.
I dread the cold already.

Helena, love your new blooms. cute little purple and I really like the Murasaki-shibori types.

Kikyo Lace yesterday

Lav Mist looking almost white, this vine was weak and hardly bloomed this summer.

A beautiful blue LYK, this one making very few sds.

the sheet didn't work, it fried.. whaaaaaa *sniff* been pulling up dahlia bulbs and found another caudex glory.. need to see which ones make caudex bases since I don't have any pink mooonvine seeds..

keep your beauties coming.. it is cold outside! Hope Sandy doesn't hurt a lot of people on the east coast.. I am worried about this storm.
misss the kikyos, yours is a beaut!
Helena I will never ever tire of the shibouri, ever since Karen ( bluespiral) sent me my first seeds, I have been in love with them since.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Really nice blooms. It turned out to be a pretty nice day here, I worked on cleaning my gh and getting most of my plants in there.
Still have too many outside though.

Debra, lots of leaves help protect plants. I also used leaves and also the cheap tablecoths with that padding to cover my plants from a bad freeze.

I need to grow more pupureas, they are just as special as the nils.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

well, all my stuff is either cut and drying, or re-potted and vining downstairs. I sure love tinkering in all the Garden rooms at night..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra and Helena.

I'm sorry you lost your lobata Debra.
I see my
Macrorhiza, sp, has made a small caudex. Did you have one of those growing?
I'm worried about that new hurricane too.

Helena, glad you finished cleaning out your g house. Thats a lot of work every yr to be done.
I appreciate the purps more now too, so easy to grow compared to the nils.

Gautier, MS

It was nice and cozy inside gh though the blooms still are small. The vines I think are just putting their energy into the seeds. But I got another few babies started!

that s a nice collection!

Looking good Helena!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pretty blooms Helena. Mine all looked rough this morning.
Your seedlings off to a good start

Gautier, MS

Thank you ladies.

Saginaw, MI

Hello Helena, Very pretty flowers!! Your seed starts look great!! Question--you seem to be very knowledgeable about morning glories and was wondering if (in my area-zone 5--Saginaw,MI) can I start seeds now indoors and plant them out in the spring or should I wait and just put seeds directly outside after last frost in the in the spring??? Grew Grandpa Ott last year just by putting seeds directly outside in June(when I got the seeds) and they did well(flowered later but had lots of blooms). Really want the seeds you shared with me to do well also and want to make sure I plant them at the right time (indoors or out whatever the case may be) and would love any info you can give me!! Thank you

Shirley

Helena, waiting on sds to this Pretty Saz to add to your stash

The purps will bloom till later in the fall than the nils

Jackie, love all your gorgeous blooms. I love when the blooms change their color and stay open the next day.

Shirley, I can only tell you that my experience of trying to grow mgs inside the house didn't turn out so good. They did ok for awhile but then started to die on me. I do think it was because it is too dry inside the house and not enough moisture. So unless you know how to solve that problem you can try. I would wait till the end of Feb. to sart mine and be able to have them outside by the end of March unless it stays too cold. I do have my gh. You can try the purpureas a little earlier, they can take the cooler weather better.

Hope others can help with this question.

Gautier, MS

I had 2 nice blooms this morning but I didn't get to see them until this afternoon so this color might not be what it was in the morning. I had a busy day.

Beautiful color on those 2 Helena.
That 1st bloom is stunning and the pic is great.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. I like the first one too. It was still opened this morning with a color change. Here it is #1 pic.

#2 is maybe Joyce cob but really not sure which it is. Edit to say: Sorry posted the blurry picture by mistake.

#3 Is fuchsia color from yesterdays bloom and blue purple from this mornings bloom

Lovely blooms Helena. I like your color change too.
Your white bloom with the pink eye looks like Jamie Lynn, it comes out of Carnival of Venice sds.
Carnival of Venice is just a contrived name given to some mg's by sellers so as to sell seeds. The true name is
the one you use, AoMurasaki-shibori or whatever you called it. My memory not serving me correctly. :-)

Here is another Mauve splash aged bloom. I like this color too.

Love the pretty colors of your blooms Jackie. AoMurasaki-shibori is what I called it too Jackie, all I knew is that it had a long name. I didn't know they also referred it to Carnival of Venice.

Helena,it is confusing. The only good thing is when they call it Carnival of Venice, I know just which blooms they are referring to. :-)

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

hi ya all, well I have blooms downstairs, not as pretty sas all of yours tho.. sure do love to look at your photos, wish mine were still out and going. cold here,
but saw some purps still blooming inspite of the lows last weekend in the 20's/30's.

Gautier, MS

Hey Debra and Jackie. Hope you get some blooms inside soon Debras. I have no blooms today other than the little red mgs outside. Yesterday I did have a hummer that I watched going for nectar from my salvia mexicanas but not the feeder. It was pretty cold still, today it's warming up but I I don't think my hummer stayed.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Been cold here too ladies but warming up a little each day. I'm down to just 2 to 3 blooms a day, and they're not always pretty. I'm ready to start more. I sprayed neem oil on my glories yesterday, a little late but hoping to knock out some spider mites and whiteflies which have devastated my vines.

Pretty bloom Jackie. Yeah, those bugs just love coming out where it's nice and warm but I got my neem oil handy for them.
