Help with worms in hibiscus

Hello everyone,
last night I was at my friends house and she asked me what this is???

well she has a huge hibiscus that she keeps outside all summer and about 3 weeks ago she brought it in, no sighns of bugs or worms then. now there are hundreds of worms on the surface of the soil. they are about 1 cm in lenght and have lots of legs. when you disturb thm they curl up.
does anyone know what this is? does it goes to other plants? help please. she said she will put the plant in the garage, but there it will die (to cold)....

The soil outside is exposed to anything and everything that chooses to live and breed within it' Bringing it inside,warm room temps,will create the perfect hatching of pests' These can then go and infect other plants in the proximity' I would remove the plant,wash the roots well and repot. Spray the leaves well before bringing back inside' Hope this helps' Sis' Been there done that,no fun either'

I will pass it along to my friend.

I went to her home and we soaked the soil with neem oil, all the worms that where on the surface died when I was there. She did not tell me what happend after that.

Sounds like roly polies,when you touch them they roll up into a ball... are they a grayish color? They will not harm the plant for they like to eat decaying material...I have them all over my yard every year...

I accidentally touched a caterpillar on my hibiscus last year. A very pretty one with horns!!! Did that little stinker stick one on me or what!! The pain was awful - so be careful because they hide under the leaves too!!

louisa, the Io moth caterpillar loves hibiscus and they are extremely painful.
