Northeast Gardening: Coffee Break # 85
I thought you were going to take it all the way to the scalp
I was Jen but my daughter pointed out to me that while my chopping my hair off was a great statement and showed support....I have a 17 month old Grandson, and 3 & 4 year old Granddaughters who may not understand and worse, scare them.
Good point. I hadn't thought of that.
True.....don't upset the kids....
ok - i guess :)
A totally #$%^& day.....found a puddle under the car....$500.00 & a new water pump later......
sorry marilyn - we just got through with some work on the wife's car for slightly north of your hit - and i had been using a friends pick up to harvest rocks for another wall and the power steering went, no relationship of lugging rocks that would cause the problem, still feel guilty, althoguh it is a 10+ yr old vehicle so something was due to happen.
I know how that feels, Marilyn. One of our Managers at work just had his second, new car catch on fire in less than two months! Why he bought another one like the first one that caught on fire is beyond me! The first one he had two months - this one two weeks and I wish I could say it wasn't an American car, but both were Dodges. The only bright spot - well - besides the flames - is that they are company cars so it doesn't cost him anything.
Guess I won't be looking at a Dodge! Bill, this Tahoe is 8 years old & has 112,000 miles+.....I've only replaced a battery & brakes, so I guess it doesn't owe me anything...I'm trying to find a newer, used Tahoe, but ..no luck....
this is for Jen - nh Chronicle just had a spot on fairy houses

our friends truck is a dodge
My oldest granddaughter loves the fairy books! Bill, if it was a Dodge, it's not your fault! My neighbor has a Dodge truck....needs a new fuel pump....
helped get the truck to her mechanic today - seal had rotted.
Should have made you feel better!
Went to my brothers yesterday, he ate very well considering. He's lost a bit more hair & weight and his platelets are way down from the radiation & chemo. They gave him a shot Friday to bring them back up and he doesn't need to have chemo for 2 weeks....round one is done for now.

Still praying for a miracle.
That's a cute photo, given the circumstances.
That's a great pic to have Celeste♥
Prayers & hugs for you both......
With that smile, you could make anyone feel better, Celeste. Sending hugs and prayers too. So much reading to catch up on! Intimidating since i know I've missed birthday wishes and other things, and I hate that! Getting slowly better, and the weeds and trimming and fall prep are making faces at me. Waving to everyone!
I'm astounded at how long it takes me to recover (i.e., a bruise, the flu, etc.) now that I'm in my 50's.
A real "downer"; but I'm so much smarter than in my 20's, so it's a trade-off, I guess.
Thanks, BA, as it is now three months to 50 for me!! ;)
Hi Louise....glad to hear you are feeling better....think about how nice & warm FL will be!
Sorry you are still not right DB.
Pixie you forgot to grow the mustasche. Nice photo.

I hope you provide a handy-dandy link for viewing your Halloween decorations.
An annual treat !!!
(I think it's you; we never met...sorry if it isn't.)
Thank you Memory, BA, Ronnie & Robin.
Thank you Louise, so nice of you to say, but I am still his little sister so I can annoy him . :) I'm glad your feeling a little better and I wouldn't worry about those weeds, they will be there next year.
LOL IrisMA That was one of the first things I said to him...how come your mustache is not falling out??
Allison, your sweet too, yes I butt dialed you again and im sorry. Sorry your ankles hurt too...but if they hurt that means a great show again this year!! ^_^ It's Oct.!! Only got 30 days left before the big night!!!
BA, your right....she's the Halloween/Christmas Decoration Queen!

Allison is indeed the queen of Halloween.....can't wait to see this year's show....
It is sobering to think about the medical challenges above, and the courage it takes to face them. DG folks are in my heart and prayers for good health.
I'm home with the flu, so there's a chance to post a few pics. Who'd have thought with kids gone, I'm busier than ever, getting them settled, cleaning up, recovering energy and equilibrium...
I just posted this under the public gardens section-- a pleasant stop while driving home from college drop-off, the famous Namkeag Gardens in Stockbridge, MA, designed by Fletcher Steele for Mabel Choate. I've always wanted to see it.

Pretty Rosemary...feel better!
Thanks, Ronnie. I'm doing lots of things to recover, including things to recover from the ravages to the body from having triplets after 40!
Wow...you are another tough cookie, Rosemary! Stockbridge isn't that far from me.....friends & I go to the Red Lion occasionally....have never been to the garden, but my son has.....
thanks guys... and BA I started a thread already http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1273027/
getting excited already!!!
Newspaper this morning showed a 2 year old bull moose in my neighborhood....has been wandering for several weeks....warning drivers to be careful as he already weighs 6oo pounds! DEEP says to give him a wide berth, but that he probable won't attack....great...another thing to worry about when I walk Suey.....
oh geez
YIKES!!
Can you use an elephant gun or is there a special Moose Rifle?
Mooseket.
My mom is 75 today!
Happy birthday!
