I know I have at least 2 different varieties of angel trumpets. The purple I know seeds and I have to start from scratch every year with that one. But the variety that does not seed I would like to take some cuttings and root them. I have no idea when or how to do this. Please help.

Go to the Brugmansia forum! LOTS of helpful folks there! I'm new to them myself.
Angie isn't a subscriber. Perhaps you could get them to come here?
Then googling will surely help her! I'm not an expert......yet!
I posted over on the Brug Forum and asked if someone can come over and answer your questions. It might take a day or two for them to answer. I know it's a simple process, I just don't know what it is. ^_^
Hi Angie,
the Brugmansia will root in water. Choose the cutting from a part of the plant that shows the white pre root nubs.(Little white dots)
Use room temperature pre boiled water in a clean glass, I sit it on a window sill.(three or four inches of water is fine).
Stick the cutting into the water (strip of most of the leaves- you can leave a couple of small ones on it if you like).
Within a few days the little white dots you see on your cutting will become prominent and commence to turn into roots.
Plant at any time from then on, into well draining but moisture retentive medium. The cutting will fill the little pot quite quickly, then you pot it on, or plant it out.
Here in Australia you can just throw the bits down on the ground and they will root on damp soil.
Many gardeners just shove a cutting in under the mother plant and that works.
You can make seeds too from those two Brugmansia ...but that is another story ^_^
Good luck ...I hope some Brug growers from your area may pop in to help you .

Here is a walk down memory lane when we Aussie gardeners were new too, the aussie section is free so it should work I hope.
Remember we were just starting out so it should help you in plain speak :)

Angie, it only costs $20/year to join and enjoy all the knowledge/forums - WELL worth the money!!!! If you can't afford it, dmail me. Edited to say that comes to 5 1/2 cents per day - inexpensive expert knowledge!
