I have been growing strawberrys in a strawberry pot, and don't know what to do with them over winter. Will they survive in pot if left outside? Or should I plant into ground? zone 7; pot is 8" x 8" more or less.
strawberry plants
I'm not sure the absolute right answer, but I do know this is the time of year to plant strawberries! I'm planting my container strawberries in the ground. I think they have a better chance that way. I am also planting my garlic with them to fend off slugs in the spring!
thank you--I guess I'll put them "in". garlic a good idea--thanks
That's a very tiny pot, not too good for long term growth of most plants. I agree that getting them in the ground is probably the best thing to do, despite that strawberries are extremely hardy and might, possibly, winter over in such a pot in your climate (don't know for sure).
