Do Arbor Vitae clippings work well for general mulch?
Are they acidic in the same way that pine needles are?
Thanks, Pete
Arbor Vitae Clippings for Mulch
Hi Pete, Welcome to DG. I hope these links answer your questions.
I do know that wood chips and bark from Arbor vitae are used as mulch.

I found this article on using AV needles/scale. It states that they are acidic, but need to be aged a season.

Hi and thank you for the links. That is quite interesting how they need to be aged.
You are most welcome. I was surprised by that also...usually it is with green stuff like grass trimmings that you want to age it to prevent nitrogen loss...who'da thunk AV needles need to lose their coating?
