I have a Hummingbird Feeder that is attracting Bees. I cannot attract Hummingbirds but the Bees will empty the bottle in 2 hrs. Then they all leave.
Attracting Bees
Some types of feeders are more resistant to bees; I like the dish type feeders myself.
If your feeder has yellow flowers on the feeding ports, remove them. Most will just slip off. The yellow is more of an attractor for the bees and yellow jackets. You will be bothered less.
I like the single tube feeders. These birds jealously guard feeders so I use single feeders and place them all around the house. That gives everyone a chance to dine. The single ones are also easier to clean and I change them daily anyway so keep a spare set to swap and wash them.
Try using a bee guard. I think Wild Birds Unlimited sells them.
Ditto on that bee guard--works great.
