I have several varieties of shrubs and trees that have been showing signs of trouble. Both of my honeysuckle bushes (planted 30-40 feet apart), my catalpa tree seedlings, and a new shrub I can't identify because I lost the tag--Each are showing some leaf curling, but mostly just BLACK dead stuff at the new growth leaves. Upon inspection, I find just a mess of black little things (insect feces?) inside the leaf curls, and the emerging flower blossom or new leaf growth is killed and dried up black. Am I dealing with some kind of insect, blight of some kind, or both?
Blight or insect damage?
Can you post some pictures?
