Hedychium

I was sent some Hedychium seedlings earlier this year and the gentleman did give me the full botanical name. However, I've mislaid the tag and the only thing I can remember is that the species name started with a T, I have been unable so far to identify any Hedychium with a species name beginning with T.

Does anyone happen to know off hand?

Baa, Hedychium is the species name. it must be the second part you are looking for which can only be H thyrsiforme.

Thanks Mark

Hedychium is the genus name surely?

H. thyrsiforme is one I can't find a reference for, could it be thrysiflorum?

Thanks for the pointer, I hope it is the one :)

Thanks for the pics MVR but I won't be able to identify it fully for a while, they are only this years seedlings. The only thing I know for sure right now is that they are Hedychium :)

U're very welcome Baa ;o). i have barely started my present garden after losing the garden i worked on for more than 25 yrs. i have several starts of ginger plants: pine cone, alpinia, white & yellow butterfly, kahili, pink torch, shampoo and some heliconia. i could hardly wait for next summer for them to bloom. i know for sure they will bloom next year cause i used to grow them too :)... ma vie rose
