Bill that lotus is beautiful, as is your gardens/yard. :)
The lotus is a beauty! Love the color on that phlox, Jo....I have Coral Creme Drop, but the bunny? chipmunk? deer? ate the bud.....
thanks folks - yes that is cardinal flower, it reseeds freely here although not invasive as it is easy to pull out - this is a plant that can be put in the pond too - so i will be doing that next year.
Thats a great idea.
So pretty Bill, will the lotus overwinter?
Love the lotus!
Cardnial flowers are great for the hummingbirds!

Nice phlox Jo! You may have I.D.'d one for me! :)

3.) This is my 9ft lily 'ELUSIVE' this year, tangled in a mass of clem vines but still blooming it's fool head off.
4.) 'Tom Pounce'

Those phlox are stunning.
I need some help with a white garden I am trying to put togeter for my 93 year old mother. I am trying to plan it so it will have something blooming at all times. It looks pretty sparse in these pictures but gives an indication of what I have so far. We have a large concrete statue of the madonna that I need to clean up and paint.
Perennials: Astilbe Bridal Veil, Japanese irises Henry's White and Anytus, Siberians - White Triangles, White Prelude. Gull's Wing, Fourfold White, Anniversary, Daylily Dad's Best White, Bearded Iris I Do and Immortality.
Annuals: Cosmos, impatiens and petunias. The petunias have spread a bit so I'll try to get a better picture of them with the Cosmos.
A few idea's:
Hydrangea 'Incrediball' or 'Annebelle' or 'Wedding Gown'
Rosees that are hardy just to name a few ~ Rambler - ''Christmas Snow' blooms for a long period of time.
Miniature Rose: 'Cinderella', 'Grace Seward'
Echinacea ~ "White Swan', 'Fragrant Angel' , 'Coconut Lime', Milkshake
Hardy Carnation/Dianthus caryophyllus : 'Dover' , 'Grenadin White', 'Innocence'
good list there celeste
Mittsy, white candytuft is pretty & low growing....also white violas & snow-in-summer.....shasta daisies...
Thanks for all the suggestions. It's raining (Thank the Lord) so I haven't been able to get out to take any pictures yet . Yesterday I dug out my Shasta Daisy, needed to divide it so now I can put some there too. I can't grow Asiatics as I have moles/voles they love to eat them and they are too expensive to become part of the Mittsy's critter delicatesen. I'll look into the candytuft, I have some white violas in a planter. I could move them. Still need to look up a few more of the suggestions. Thank you so much for all your input. Crazy Lady Shasta type daisy
