I am growing Romas for the first time and my plants are all doing well. My question is if I only have few ripen but the rest are behind, how can I preserve them until the rest catch up? My goal is to can them as salsa and spaghetti sauce. I have 6 plants with 10-12 fruits each and they are gradually ripening, but 4 have come off in my hand. We don't really eat them raw - so I want to save these 4 little guys until their siblings are ready and ripe.
Roma tomatoes
If all your going to do is can salsa and marinara, you can simply freeze the tomatoes until you're ready start canning. It doesn't do anything bad to the taste, and as a bonus, when you take them out of the freezer, the skin comes right off as soon as they defrost. I've done this for a couple of years with my Romas, and I've never had any problems.
I like tomato by eating them raw with sugar or blend it with ice cube, condensed milk.
Today, I have one tomato cherry (little one). It's already red.
Difficult for me to grow tomatoes plants. There are some white germs/ bucks (Planococcus).
I am happy if someone who has many seeds of tomato, can give me some :)
Tks
