Alope Sphinx Caterpillars eating my Papaya Leaves

Bradenton, FL

I have an infestation of these caterpillars and snails on my Papaya trees. I would info on how or what I need to do to get rid of them. I have grown these from the seed of a grocery store papaya 15 months ago and there now starting to fruit. I don't want to lose them to some critter. Please Help...Thank you

You can pick them off and dump in a bucket of soapy water or use a product called Spinosad that works well on caterpillars...don't wait long though or they will strip all the leaves bare. The plant will probably recover, but they will scar or destroy the fruit.

We get these on our papayas and we do absolutely nothing. They don't eat enough to kill the tree.
