Not sure if I'm on the right forum, but hopefully someone can help! My cantaloupes have split - not where attached to the vine, but where they were laying on the ground. It has only affected a small portion of the cantaloupe.
If I cut these portions off, is the cantaloupe still safe to eat?
And how can I avoid this in the future?
Thanks for your help!
split cantaloupe - safe to eat?
Call your county agent and ask them. Always be on the safe side with things like this. Some fruits, you can cut off the bad part and give the smell test. If in doubt, throw it out. Luciee (;^)
