Yeah I'm really loving the coleus this year
Garden Gems 2012 #6
Love the pics, Allison, Marilyn and Jen! That 'Laura' and 'Blue Paradise' phlox are gorgeous! Must get some. The annual garden looks great, Marilyn, and that cosmos looks like it's from the Seashells mix.
Jen, don't know the weed. That El Desperado is great. I ordered it one time, but got a pink one instead that I believe is Pink Cotton Candy. Not that it's not a nice one, but it's certainly not what I ordered.
Daylilies take a lot of patience from seed, Ronnie, and I'm sure you know that daylilies do not come true to seed. Your seedlings will look different from the parent, though sometimes they may look very similar. The only way to get a true copy of the parent is through division or tissue culture or from proliferations on the scape (essentially a baby plant of the parent, like a spider plant would make, that can be rooted). These are all considered clones.

OK...just added Playtime to my list! Very pretty.....my echies are very sad looking this year....
This thread starts off with a bang because of the double orange blossom in the first post!! Beautiful Karen. Too many for me to mention individually at this late date, but the Daylilies that Celeste and Karen post are endless and gorgeous. JoAnn's pots will be models for my next year's containers. Ronnie, I always LOVE your choice of flowers in your garden.
Wow...that phlox is a knockout!
That Phlox is "Orange Perfection" and I especially like the blue Lisianthus. The yellow and pink are not up yet.
Celeste I love the pow wow!!... Teri the begonia is great!!!.. did you grow or buy plants of your Lisianthus?.. I have not tried them from seed yet
Good luck, Allison....I tried countless times...they never germinated for me.....
I grew the Lisianthus, Allison and they took a very long time to germinate, and then a very long time for the seedlings to get to a decent planting size.
like a January sow?
Thanks Teri! Good going on the lisianthus I gave up long ago!
