I forgot to post the picture of the Red, White & Blue Ice Cream Cake I made for our party. I almost didn't get to snap one as my brother was slicing away at it before I knew it. He was the biggest kid who had permission to use a knife....and couldn't wait!
Next time I will make the layers of ice cream a tad thicker. :)

we closed our bad eating weekend with porterhouse steaks, corn, asparagus, and carrots .. full belly now.. used the charcoal grill with smoking chips.. nice thing about the small grill Randy put it on the deck for me.. and we have the fireproof mat for under it.. so I was able to sit and not walk too far.. all good

Chicken packets on the grill....taters, summer squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots and onions.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

Got our first crop of basil and cucumbers from garden, so had to put it to use. DW baked flounder with homemade pesto, parsley potatoes, and I contributed corn and a salad from a Boothbay Blonde cuke, arugula and michili. Looking forward to her blue-straw-berry tart for dessert later.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Mmm
I made a sirloin roast on the grill last night, and just finished slicing the rest up for sandwiches.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

Robin:
'Salt and Pepper' is usually thought of as a small pickling cucumber, but DW has decreed that we aren't going to have any jars of vinegar smelling up the house! Is it also good for eating raw? I'm also trying 'Lemon Slicer' and 'Spacemaster' this year, but they are not quite ripe yet.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, Don, it's good eating....mild & teeny seeds.....I do pickle, so that's what I grow.....my DIL made pasta with ham, onions, & garden peas last night...very tasty!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

must have been our deep fried turkey getting to you Celeste!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I had been craving it and then you mentioned it and that was all she wrote!! LOL I had a butterball in the freezer so I took it out. ^_^
