This is my second summer to try Malili watermelons. Last year the darn things never got fully ripe. This year I thought one looked ripe but when I cut it open it was still white inside. So I determined to leave the melons on the vine forever and a day if I had to, but the bugs got them first and I ripped out the whole plant. I'm done with that variety.
However, my Prudens Purple tomatoes have ripened in full scorching Tucson sun, and I am head over heels in love.

Watermelon agony and tomato ecstasy
That make me so not to wanna ever cut open a watermelon again in life.
You can make pickled watermelon or eat neat like a cucumber. Do not throw them away. They are delicious!!!
