I have an eight year old dwarf Elberta peach tree. When it first produced, I decided to share with the critters. My share of about 150 was 20. I've tried bird netting to no avail. Those pesky squirrels find their way in. Would an animal repellent work and could I remove the repellent by washing? Thanks ,jagdoran

I use a plastic owl. We put a tee post into the ground close to the fruit tree and perch the owl on it. Squirrels are very fearful of owls and it normally works very well. Of course, there's always the occasional brassy squirrel that will take it's chances because the treat seems worth it but most of the squirrels stay away.
