Broccoli going to seed

Hi,
The weather here in Id. has been in the upper 90's and lower triple digits.
Our broccoli has gone to seed. Is this the reason for the seeding??

Mine went to seed Aa month ago! Too hot. I'll try again in the Fall.

Not sure what you mean by going to seed? The desired part of broccoli is the flower buds picked just before they bloom out. Weather can certainly affect the size of the seed heads, but they have to try to seed in order to get broccoli. Of course once the flowers open edibility goes way down.
