We bought a woodlot that contains many high and low-bush blueberries. They have been disregarded for years and over grown with trees, shrubs etc.
We have tried to give them as much light as possible by clearing the brush and trees around them. What should we do next?
Mulch? with what?
overgrown blueberry bushes in forest
1st get a soil test to make sure u r in the right range of ph, and that the other nutrients are correct.
Composted hardwood mulch works well.
Get a good guide on pruning blueberries, and get started. otherwise you will get stunted, tasteless berries.
Most of all enjoy! Nothing better then fresh picked blueberries.
