I have a hot pink Mandevilla and a yellow Mandevilla. They both say vine on the tags but neither one of them are climbing. They are both about 1 1/2 feet tall. Is there something I need to do to make them start climbing. I have tried starting them on the trellis but they have a mind of their own.
Do all Mandevilla's Climb?
There's a type of Mandevilla that used to be called Dipladenia and they tend to be more shrubby than viney.
Also, there is no true Mandevilla that is yellow (that I know of). Those labeled as such could be Urechites lutea (aka Pentalion lutea) or Allamanda which is often more shrubby than viney.
So maybe it's not you, it's a mislabeled plant.
