Propagation of Hardy Hibiscus ( cuttings and seeds)

I am searching for help with try both cuttings and seeding to propagate hardy hibiscus. Have never tried cuttings, but have tried seeds with very poor results ( even with trying to score the seed.) Any advise will sure make me a happy gardner. Thanks
