Morning Glories 2012 #04

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena and Debra.

Helena, I have several Saz's going so hopefully I'll still get some nice Sazanami blooms.
Wish I had grown a Lav Chiffon.

Debra, looking forward to your pics of the speckled and all the other vines you have going in your yard.
I have your Xiongs planted but not
budded out yet.

Dee looking forward to your Moonflower blooms. That one is reputed to have a light fragrance.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

moon flowers are so nice... Jackie do you have any growing? I have them everywhere.. do u want some seeds?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, I haven't planted them in yrs. Such a difficult
decision when you have hundreds of sd packets and try to decide how to prioritize which sds to start.
Maybe I'll try them next yr. I still have plenty of sds, but thanks for your kind offer. :-)

Debra, those vines will give lots of nice blooms.
Caught the bee in the act if only it had enough pollen. The leaves look awful, I'll have to remove them.

2nd picture is 2 different vines with blooms

Black King or Dark Duskie.

I had anice light choclate silk from Jackie bloom this am, but it was torn up at the base of that patch. it sure looked like it was a large beauty.
Helena, that black king is awsome.

Helena, love your bloomz this morning. Big ole bee butt is funny. I think a bumblebee is what stung me
a couple of weeks ago. It hurt so bad I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room..
It had to be a bee cause he left the stinger in my arm...

Debra, wish I had planted the light Choc Silk sds too. It was so pretty and I think it was a cross with the White Fuji from Antoinette, not sure though. Send us a pic next time, we don't mind if the bloom is torn. Most of mine are torn, esp the largest ones

A new Purple no Mai not open today.

Jackie and Debra thanks, I've been stung by a bumble bee so I know how bad it hurts.............

Jackie, love your pretty Bold Miss Piggy!!!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

i have that bold miss piggy too! I really do not care for the pinks the way I love the blues, but this one is gorgeous. I will see if I have any blooms tommorrow.. I had to unwind vines and move the hanging planters to the bottom of the south arbor..( new) the north arbor along the patio is covered in vines climbing the tall sunflowers, now I have a whole solid wall. YAY!
new arbor. I had to cut the i plantesis away ffrom the patio wall of vines, it wasn't getting eniught sun and too much water, so back out to the solid sun it went. it will be putting out in no time, it has already bloomed when the sunflowers were small. sticto has even bloomed already.. in june..

Beautiful! Hope you get seeds to share!

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda, I tried hand pollinating them this time. I'll know in a few weeks if they took or not. They, what's supposed to be the seed pod dries up and turn browns right away if it didn't take.

Lovely blooms Helena. My Lowes had a lovely peach coneflower, one of the new ones but it was very pricey
in a large pot so I didn't splurge. Wish I had now.

Beautiful blooms Debra. Is that one Fuji no Momo, pretty soft pink. Nice acidanthera.
What is that lovely red bloom, looks familiar?? Its not a Mandevilla??

Starting the new thread

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

yes, a mandevilla. thanks! I thought the pink was a choclate silk pink. I will look at the bag. LOL you ouhta know, u sent me the seed. LOL

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra.I might should know but I don't, lol. It was just a guess on my part. It probably is a Choc silk. if
thats what you planted. I remember that I was going to send you a no Momo sd but seems like I didn't
harvest enough to share. I've got one going now but its eat up by mites. Fasting spreading spider mites Ive ever had. I've sprayed but I waited too long to do it.
