The pink NOID sounds great to me thank you Gita, and a bit more info in a D-mail is on its way to you. :)
Summer flowers
Holly, how many years does it take for it to blooms so beautifully?
Well, Critter gave it to me a year or two ago. It was just a very tiny rooted cutting.
Holly--
Have any of your Brugs bloomed yet????
Would be a nice accent thing for your Garden walk......They may not even know what it is!
G.
No they haven't they look great but no signs of blooms yet. They have been well watered and fed so they sure should soon.
Holly---
I guess you just have to wait for them to "Y"...THAT magic moment.....
Remember--the big, fat stem I gave you of the Dr. Seuss is ALL below the "Y"..
May just blow you away next year!
The small cuttings may beat the big one to it...
I am sure it will be worth the wait.
Pretty Jen. Boy it is hot out there. I thought I would do a little weeding but I don't see that happening this afternoon. I did spray some weed killer around the pool, walkways, driveway and patio. I don't like using it as no matter how careful I try to be it always seems I get some on a plant where I didn't want it.
Well pretty much all the impatients are dead, the petunias in the hanging baskets are shot. Lilies and iris are finished. Quite a few of the plants especially those with large leafs are filled with holes. So I am having the HGHA over for a tour in 2 weeks not too sure what they are going to see. Right now the Glads on the walkway to the GH are just beautiful but I bet they will be finished by Sept, too. I have a lovely Rose but it is the only one on all the bushes and most of them don't have any leaves either. Doesn't look too bad from a distance but up close it is a mess.
If need to, can you fill in with some annuals? Sometimes some well placed containers with annuals really fills in the dead spots
Holly---
I am so sorry for how you pants look--when you want to impress someone on a "WALK"...
If they live in the same area--and, IF they know what the weather has been like---
WHY would they plan a "WALK"???? That is putting undue stress on you Guys in the garden.
Tell them to come next spring--like end of May--beg. of June....Gardens are so beautiful then!
Not much left to brag about in my garden either--the Coleus are marching on----the Brugs are recovering--
and have bloomed. I expect one more big flush beg. of October....
Zinnias and Dragon Wing begonias are beautiful. I just read that the D.W. Begonia was developed as a cross
between the Angel Wing Begonia---and the Wax begonia. WOW!
It is hard for me to even step outside. Even if the temps. are not too high--it is stiffing to go outside...
Been sitting inside--working on a Craft Project--and shelling seeds from all kinds of collected seed pods.
AND--watching TV.
This is a picture of MY INERTIA. Glowingly comfortable......:o) Glowingly filled with procrastination....;O(
Gita
I thought of that a few weeks ago but there isn't much in the way of annuals left in the nurseries and what is there isn't looking very good. I figure I will weed dead head and cut back anything that looks really bad when the beds are cleaned up I can always mulch. I figure that their gardens probably don't look much different. Not like I'm having hundreds of people here just about 30-35. A month ago I had a ton of really nice looking plants maybe a bit chewed on but they had beautiful blooms and scents.

Someone stopped by so I let my post sit. We did a walk around the gardens showing her the PB Bush, Beauty Berry, Glads and a few other things and she just raved about the beauty of my gardens. OK, So maybe it isn't as bad as I think it is.
Gita, The big Brug is impressive even without blooms. Everyone that comes by asks about it.
Holly---
If you have serious "holes" in your garden beds--you can always plop a potted plant of some kind in there
to fill in. Just to add some color. I do that......
Holly--we cross-posted....
Just tell all those people to come back next October--when they, usually, have their best bloom flush.
They just love that cooler weather!

Not big holes but I had a really nice looking line of salmon impatiens that are pretty much gone and they were the color in those beds.
Holly, all of my impatiens looked dead in the July heat, but they've all perked up again in the past few days, with all this nice rain we've had. I guess they were taking a break in the heat of the summer!
I'm going to plant something else next year though. Maybe Sunpatiens will do better in our summer heat.
We always have a more critical eye on ourselves anyway, I'm sure it looks great
Sunpatiens did well for me this year. (Remember that impatiens all over the world are suffering and in jeopardy from the INSV virus, so alternatives are in order whatever the weather may be next year.)
Holly, Too bad your 'walk' is preswap or I could have given you my 10 3gal pots of them to fill in! lol
I do agree though that your gardens would be and are impressive to me in the dead of winter with 6 inches of snow!

Amen to that, coleup! They have good bones!

Thanks guys, so nice of you.
