Can anyone help? I keep my pitcher plant in my bathroom, so the atmosphere is warm and moist, although it is kept in the window there is no direct sunshine, although light levels are good. I bought it just before Christmas when it had lots of mature pitchers on it. As they died I removed them, since then new pitchers continue to be produced, as they open I make sure that I pour a small amount of soft water into them, as instructed. But as they get bigger the top of the pitcher turns brown and shrivels as you can see from the picture. Any ideas about what I may be doing wrong? My lovely plant is otherwise doing well, I've taken some cuttings which are doing well.
my new pitcher plant pitchers are dying
You do NOT need to put water in them, they make their own. How much light do they get? They need BRIGHT filtered Sun. Use distilled water or rainwater ONLY. Feed every 2 weeks with 1/4 strength miracle grow or orchid food. This initiates pitchering too. The actual pitchers don't last for ever, they DO die eventually.
