I have two huge oversized Dianthas mounds that I would like to split. Can I do so now (temps around 80)
Dianthas when to split
What Dianthus do you have? Can you post a picture?
Normally they are divided in early spring just as new growth is showing up.If you decide to do so now, water them well the day before divide them. Some sites suggest just using a spade to cut through the plant and then lifting half to a new location.

i dug two out a month ago and transplanted to other spots. i cut them back severely with a garden scissors and watered well the first two weeks. they are up and blooming again now.
