Hi all -
A section of my lawn is under some large, mature fir trees. Several major roots are close to the surface and the soil tends to be thin and dry with grass and weeds covering the ground. Since the trees are on the north side with high branches, the space gets a reasonable amount of sun throughout the day. What are my options? I don't want to damage the trees, and I'm not attached to having a lawn, but I'd like something there other than just mulch and that thin grass is just pitiful, especially when compared to the other parts of the yard.
Thanks!
