Beautiful zinnias!!
June Blooms
Stephanie, that is interesting, I never knew okra was in the hibiscus family. I love the flour and I love fried okra. Those are some beautiful pics everyone, I especially like the day lily morganc.
Actually, I don't live in Dish, I just can't get Dave's Garden to understand that. I live just 2 miles south of Justin, by the TMS, it's funny, I put Justin in the spot and it changed it to Dish, then, I went and changed it again to Justin, but it changed it back to Dish. Dish is north of Justin as you go into Ponder. And, yes it is quite a mess with the gas situation there. It has taken me quite a bit of getting used to the fact of these wells popping up all around us.
By the way, I just bought another plant today. It is called an Candletree, I thought it looked unusual. When my camera charges, I will take pics.
That sure s pretty Sheila.
Morgan, I love the orange zinnia. Its shape reminds me of my moms zinnias from my childhood.
Thank you all. I plant the Zins from seed every year....love just throwing them everywhere! :-))
Sheila - Does that mean the okra is HOT?
texas62 - I had to laugh when I saw your post....I'm always having to recharge my camera too!
stephanie - I didn't know about the Hibiscus family either...but it makes sense when you see the flower....duh!
More Zinnias.....just different.
Very pretty Cheryl.
More great blooms! LOVE that sunflower!!
Just gorgeous Cheryl!!
Girl, that bed of yours produces the best plants, of course with your help.
That bed is where the pond is so it gets a lot of water. One area shines while another is on the wane. Yesterday I cut back all the heartleaf skullcap that was browning and now that bed is bare naked!

Very pretty beds Cheryl! Mine blooms here and there but I don't plan very well and rarely have a grouping looking like yours.
This is my "driveway bed" -- Garden/Summer Phlox (Phlox paniculata), Red Pentas (Pentas lanceolata), Spinach Tree/Chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius), Brugmansia, Mystic Spires, Bog Sage, Heliotrope and other things tucked into spots on the other side you can't see.

Very nice bed to welcome you home, Dale!
Love the phlox, they look so healthy.

I amended the bed last winter with lots of chopped up leaves and a few grass clippings. It's really made a difference.

Very lovely Dale, I really love phlox.
Dale, I still have my Spinach Tree potted....will it survive in the winter here, or do you dig and bring it in?
Hey Sheila:
No, it will definitely not survive our winter. I wouldn't go to the trouble of digging it up. Just take a snipping (about a foot or two), stick it in a pot of soil, water it in and you're done. Much easier to overwinter a cutting than digging up the big plant. They are incredibly easy to grow from cuttings.

Glad to know! This one is getting quite large now, so in the ground it goes next year....minus a cutting or two!
