prairie verbena has been cut back twice and is still large and lovely
June Blooms
Cheryl, the prairie verbena that you gave me is doing very well. I can't wait till it gets bigger and really looks full and gorgeous like your pic.
R. nudiflora is reseeding everywhere but only a couple plants are large enough to bloom.
Very nice Cheryl.
That sure is gorgeous, I just don't have the right type of soil for it.
I didn't either til I made the raised bed its in last year. The flowers are tiny though. Hopefully it will grow large enough to make some kind of show. I am enjoying growing plants in that sandy bed. Very different from what all my other gardening efforts have been.

Maybe I need to make one of those, but frankly I don't know where.
Cheryl, I also had problems with pictures today. Your flowers are all amazing! That Hairy Skullcap is gorgeous!
Honestly Josephine mine looks out of place with the other beds but its for me and I love it.
Looking good everyone!!
Great blooms! My little Brazilian Red from Catz bloomed a bit ago ....Love those!
So nice and colorful. I accidentally stepped on my Brazilian red from Catz...it didn't survive. The flower reminds me of Rajun cajun. I haven't seen those in the nurseries for a while.
OK, so those are crape myrtles blooming everywhere. I've heard of them but had always pictured my grandparents' Rose of Sharon for some reason. And fire ants are new to me. Yuck!
Wish we could plant in the ground...we bought a tropical hibiscus which would have pouted and sulked all summer in Boston (and then died), and it is blooming its head off! Got to unpack the camera so I can post.
Yes it does look like the RC Anna! Hope your plant comes by from the roots in the spring.
Ok, no flowers but just as pretty! 4 Newly potted Saracennias. I grew these up north and they never reached the size of these plants. Long hot growing seasons do wonders for them. I wish I had taken pics of them covered in ice from the ice storms a couple years ago. Pretty and hardy, you just can't beat that. The pic was taken this evening and you can't see how purple the plants really are. The short ones are not brown but a nice dark maroon.

Cheryl, you always grow the most interesting plants! I'm so glad you share them with us!
Trying to get others to grow some too!
Ditto what Stephanie said!! Always something different at your place.
Just the norm here with butterfly host plants , but enjoy them.
Oh I've been remiss in not lurking here recently....such beautiful blooms everyone.....such beauty here in Texas.
Just got some of my "deals" planted, Lowes had PowWow Wildberry and Satin White Coneflowers on sale for $2.50 each. Very healthy. Also separated and transplanted my daylily, Tropical Depression.
A couple months ago I rescued a pitiful agastache and a white firecracker and planted them near my ongoing pond project. They are now doing well!
Don't know what wildflower this is, have never had it before. Fern like leaves with simple petaled flowers, no smell. 2 to 3' tall. Ideas?
The wildflower is Partridge Pea, very beneficial to wildlife.
I would hate to judge a contest of the most beautiful garden out of any of these pics. Absolutely lovely gardens everyone.
Welcome texaslady62 :)
Ditto the welcome to TexasLady62!
Welcome '62 - I love the name of your city.....as well as your Geraniums. Such a happy flower that blooms nonstop.
stephanie - LOVE the flower of okra.....do not like the veggie. So sad, because the first time I saw the flower was here on DG. Someone had posted a pic of it with no label and I fell in love with it's beauty. I wanted one....until I found out what it was... :-((
Masquerade Daylily - these were blooming in April and have recently come back.
Zinnias - I love all the different kinds of these flowers which thrive in our heat.
Zinnias are lovely. Did I see Dish on the Gas Land documentary? I hope none of that is true about your city.
