using worm castings?

Kankakee, IL(Zone 5b)

I bought a ton of clearance bags of worm castings! I want to use them to side dress my veg garden, especially my corn. The thing is I have no idea WHEN to do this or HOW MUCH I need to use. I tilled in lots of compost in the Spring before planting, would side dressing be over kill? Which veg need the extra nutrients the most as I have 2 very large veg gardens? I realize some of this will be trial and error, but I just need to know how to get started! Thanks!

Google Vegetable plants that are heavy feeders. That will give you a list to match against your garden. . I can tell you that tomatoes are heavy feeders. These links should give you the info you need to get started.

General Application Rates are:

Mix 20-30% Worm Castings with potting soils or use as a topdress in the vegetable garden or field crops. Worm castings work great on golf courses and greens.

Mix with water at 1:3 ratio. Let soak overnight. Stir well and pour or filter through cheese cloth and add to your sprayer.

For Turf-Apply approximately 10lbs/100 sq. feet or as needed for maintenance.
