I need to have these two plants identified for a science project due on Friday. I have tried visiting local florist, and these are the only two that have been yet to be identified! Please help ID them, I found these plants in Thomas Lake Park Minnesota on May 12, 2012! Thanks in advance!

Don't go to a florist! Go to a nursery that sells shrubs! How much time have you had to complete this project? This shouldn't be too difficult. When you go to a nursery, don't take the picture if you can take a piece of the shrub. These are not uncommon in the northeast, but it may be something different in your locale.
Don't know what the first one is but the second picture looks like oak leaf hydrangea.
